AKROS HENSCHEL shears with press-wings have been developped in addition to scrap shears with lateral precompression box and automatic ones with continuous operation. These multi-purpose machines can be used either to shear or to bale materials to be processed. This range of easily-automated, fast, productive scrap shears is particularly suitable for worksites wher production is highly diversified.

Working process • Automatic shearing operating cycle • Automatic or manual precompression between 2 wings, with over-stroke function • Direct loading or with a loading hopper • Shearing ram indexing Scrap is loaded into the pre-compression box via a grab, or via the lateral skip loaded concurrently, on versions equipped with this feature. The press-wings closing movements are activated independently by the operator. The shape, power and overstroke of the press-wings enable to reduce quickly the scrap to process. Moreover, for some products and with certain precautions, the press-wings can be set to close automatically. The press-wings overstroke(s) make it easier to compress certain materials and reduce wear on the inside of the box as scrap moves forward. Once the box is fully closed, one of the automatic cycles is activated. The pushing ram: • Gradually brings the material under the shearing blade, according to a preset length. With each forward movement, the scrap is compressed by the clamp ram and then sheared. Compresses the material into a bale, against the shearing head. • Bales can be discharged either from the front, automatically, or from the rear, via a grab. Index linking: the vertical movement of the shearing ram can be linked to the actual travel of the clamp ram. This function enables to reduce the needless travel of the shearing ram and thus optimize productivity earnings. Once the scrap processing phase is complete, the pushing ram returns to the rear position and the press-wings are automatically reopened. The next loading operation or bale discharge by the box can then be carried out.
